The mad adventures of the mad Italians, searching for the mad treasures in the mad Russia.

This is a comedy movie about the hunt for buried treasure in Russia. An old woman is lying in an Italian hospital dying. One of her last requests is of her granddaughter. She tells the girl she had treasure that she buried underneath the lion in Leningrad. The granddaughter promises she will go there and find the treasure. Unknown to either woman, this last request is heard by many people. A doctor, two nurses, an Italian mafia man and an old, hobbled man have heard this request. They all want to find the treasure for themselves. Each one flies to Russia and begins trying to dig up the mysterious treasure.

The joint Soviet-Italian film, filmed in 1973 by directors Eldar Ryazanov and Franco Prosperi.
