What’s my profile page, and what appears on it?

When you create an Indie Birds account, a profile page is generated for you. This page includes your chosen account name, the date your account was created, a list of projects you have backed or launched, and whether you are a Super backer. You have the option to customize your profile page by adding additional information such as a profile picture, a bio, a link to your website or social media, and a personalized vanity URL.

As a fun feature, your profile page includes a colorful “pie” that represents the categories of projects you have backed. Each backed category fills a slice of the pie, and the goal is to back a project in every category to complete your colorful pie.

It’s important to note that your profile page is not searchable on Indie Birds, and it is not indexed by search engines like Google. However, whenever your account name appears on the site, such as when you post comments or send messages, people can click on your account name to view your profile. Please ensure that any information you add to your profile follows Indie Birds’ Community Guidelines, and be mindful not to share personal information that you’re uncomfortable with others seeing.

Can I make my profile private?

By default, profiles on Indie Birds are private. To check the status of your profile, go to the “Edit profile” tab under Settings and scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a section labeled “Privacy” with a checkbox underneath it. Make sure this checkbox is selected to set your profile to private.

It’s important to note that for transparency reasons, creators will not be able to set their full profile to private.
